Study reveals causes of poverty remain the same -14/12/04

A study of poverty over the last 100 years since a Quaker survey first identified low wages as the main cause, has revealed that the cause remains the same, although the proportion of families affected has fallen. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation report looked at the causes of poverty in Britain between 1899 and 2001/02.
