
Churches fill as tsunami prayer and giving mounts

Many churches across Britain and Ireland, and throughout the world, are anticipating a huge increase in congregations today (the second Sunday after Christmas) as the tide of prayer and giving continues in response to the Asian tsunami tragedy. Donations in Britain have now reached £51 million and upwards.
A thousand candles were yesterday lit in tribute to tsunami-ravaged Asia during a New Yearís Day prayer vigil. Hundreds of people gathered for the inter-denominational service at Methodist Central Hall in Londonís Westminster, reports Scotland On Sunday.
