The Movement Against Xenophobia is a new campaign, promoted by the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) and its allies, aimed at countering the vicious anti-immigrant discourse of mainstream politics in the UK.

Yet the reality is very different, and there is little evidence that many people visit the UK for the purpose of getting free medical treatment.
The now highly politicised immigration system in the UK and remorseless attempts by the UKBA to deny people entry or to deport them on any possible grounds produce daily injustices.
