New Testament scholar defends radical translation of Bible

A New Testament scholar and associate of the theological thinktank Ekklesia has defended a translation of the New Testament against comments [0] carried today in the Times newspaper and other media.
As Good as New: A Radical Retelling of the scriptures [1] which is produced by the
ONE community [2] and has a personal endorsement of the Archbishop of Canterbury, is aimed at the those disillusioned with institutional religion. However it has been met by many in the mainstream media with implicit criticism and a focus on a small number of biblical passages that relate to sexual ethics.
