Leader of Episcopal church expresses 'regret' following Windsor report -18/10/04

Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold has expressed "regret" for the pain that the actions of the Episcopal church had caused, but has stopped short of an apology that some say is suggested by the report of the Lambeth Commission, published today. The report by the Commission chaired by Robin Eames, and set up after the ordination of Gene Robinson threatened to split the worldwide Anglican church, urged US church leaders to express regret over the way that the gay priest was made a bishop.
