Religious Right to hold thanksgiving service for Bush

-18/01/05

US Christians in Washington are to mark the inauguration of the US President by holding a service giving 'thanks to God' for the re-election of George W. Bush.

However the news comes at the same time as the publication of a radical Christian book which challenges the moral agenda of US President George Bush, and many right-wing Christians in the US. The book hit the Amazon.com top 10 in the USA last week - even before its official launch.

"God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It" [0] by Jim Wallis from the Sojourners community in Washington DC, challenges many of the assumptions of the debate surrounding 'values voters' in the recent US Presidential elections.
