Is war ever just? The Big Questions, 26 January 2014
On Sunday 26 January 2014, BBC1's ethics and beliefs discussion show, The Big Questions, features a special edition recorded at Oasis Academy MediaCityUK in Salford, where presenter Nicky Campbell will be asking just one Big Question: Is war ever just?
The show broadcasts at 10am. Among those taking part will be Ekklesia associate and Christian peace activist Symon Hill, along with our good friend Andrew Francis from the Anabaptist Network.
Alongside them will be historians Tom Holland and Margaret MacMillan, Major General Tim Cross, author and former army chaplain Dr Peter Lee, Guardian columnist Seumas Milne, former Catholic priest Bruce Kent from the Movement for the Abolition of War, Dr Usama Hasan from the Quilliam Foundation, and the philosopher Dr Helen Frowe.
Symon Hill is also one of those standing trial on the 3 and 4 February 2014 at Stratford Magistrates Court for prayerfully blockading arms dealers trying to enter the DSEi military equipment show in London in September 2013.
