BBC debate on England's day

The BBC website has featured Ekklesia's call that "the English should celebrate their role as global citizens and not as 'narrow nationalists' on the patron saint's day."

Their 'Have Your Say' discussion board on whether there should be a national holiday has provoked a huge response - some 2,000 posts in train. Join in, if you want.

Incidentally, my Guardian CIF article on the subject is now up. See: Waiving the flag?
Apr 23 07, 05:55pm: Despite the jingoism surrounding St George, his story has another side that goes well beyond narrow nationalism.
