The Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) Christian Network, Fellowship of Reconciliation, Pax Christi and SPEAK are holding a thanksgiving service to mark the momentous campaign success of the closure of the Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO).

The groups have been calling for DESO to be closed. At the end of July Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced that DESO was indeed to close and responsibility for promotion of ‘defence’ exports will be passed to UK Trade and Industry, the body that promotes civil exports.

The groups would like to invite you to join them in celebrating together this breakthrough.

When: Wednesday 26th September, 6pm

Where: Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8EP. (Just round the corner from DESO.) BCBC is very central and well-served by tubes and buses. For a map and directions see:

RSVP: If possible, please let them know if you are planning to go, so they have an idea of numbers.
