Thinking outside the system

Today there was a marvellous BBC Radio 4 programme on paradoxical Christian philosopher Kierkegaard today. You can download it as a podcast.

The link is: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/radio4/iot/iot_20080320-1130.mp3 [1] (20 megabytes, 42 minute broadcast).

I've written a little bit about it here: http://faithinsociety.blogspot.com/2008/03/both-in-and-out-of-time-thoug... [2]

Hopefully I will find some time to reflect a bit further. One more problematic element of the kind of existentialism arising from Kieregaard's work is individualism. But his critique of Christendom, of philosophy and of a narrow view of reason is still startling and vital.

You can also get a free downloadable copy of Provocations: Spiritual Writings of Søren Kierkegaard, edited by Charles E. Moore, courtesy of Plough books here: http://www.plough.com/ebooks/Provocations.html [3]

How about that for a couple of Easter presents?
