The Obama preacher controversy

The former pastor of Barack Obama has been accused of extremism for his views on 9/11, the US and terrorism. But he has been defended by a leading moderate commentator.

Doyen US religion and theological commentator Martin E. Marty says that the Rev Jeremiah White, a retired United Churches of Christ minister, has been inaccurately traduced, and he has been backed by conservative columnist Andrew Sullivan.
