Ekklesia is involved with the Equality Bill debate in two ways. First, as a founder member of the Accord Coalition, which seeks the reform of faith schools to open them up properly to the wider community and end discrimination; second, as a participant in the Cutting Edge Consortium of religious and non-religious organisations arguing against opt-outs from equal treatment for all in work and in the provision of goods and services.
This week, Accord published a useful briefing on 'Equality and employment in faith schools', which looks at how and why the Equality Bill needs to be amended and strengthened in this regard. See: http://www.ekklesia.co.uk/node/10976
