There may not be much fun and yuletide merriment this Christmas, as Father Christmas may not make it over the Separation Wall.
A new Christmas Card produced by the charity the Amos Trust, features Father Christmas walking along the barrier.
All profits from the card go to the Trust's Christmas appeal for Wi'am Reconciliation Centre's work with children in Bethlehem.
The card urges that the children of Bethlehem not be forgotten.
The text states:
When will the children of Bethlehem know the gift of peace?
Blessed are the peacemakers -
the community builders,
the activists who practice non violence,
the educators who teach another way,
the reconcilers who seek to heal a wounded community,
the artists who imbue a community with dignity,
the academics who unearth buried truth,
the theologians who remind us of a God of liberation
and all those who seek to build a future by removing walls of division
- they shall be called the children of God.
As we celebrate the child born in Bethlehem -
let us not forget God’s children living in Bethlehem today.
The card follows the production last year by the Trust, of a nativity scene, which also features the separation wall.
