Named after the French explorer Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, De Brazza's monkeys are normally resident in the central wetlands of Africa. The de Brazza is set apart among other monkeys by the distinctive crescent of red on its forehead, and the white stripes along its thighs.
You can play a part in protecting this beautiful species from extinction today, by sponsoring or adopting one through the Aspinall Foundation. This can be done quickly an easily online.
For example, you could adopt George an adult male De Brazza's monkey, resident at Port Lympne.
George is, as you might expect, a cheeky chap who steals food from the Colobus monkeys, whose enclosure he shares.
The Foundation is dedicated to nurturing and protecting endangered species of animals from all over the world. Their website offers you the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of 19 species that desperately need protection.
Through its animal adoption and sponsorship scheme , the Aspinall Foundation returns endangered animals to safe, natural habitats.
Why not adopt or sponsor an animal today, and help them do their vital work? Adopting an animal in this way is also a creative and worthwhile ethical gift for family or friends whether it be for Christmas, a birthday or even as a creative wedding gift.
The Aspinall Foundation's two parkland reserves provide homes for over 1000 wild animals who, like George, are endangered. It desperately needs your help to continue supporting rare animals like George.
For just £3 per month you can adopt George the monkey and help the Aspinall Foundation care for him and many others like him. You will get a special fact sheet, an adoption certificate and a monthly newsletter keeping you up to date with how he is doing. You also get a free pass to visit him.
Alternatively for £6 per month you can become his defender, which will give you all the benefits of adoption plus a free annual pass too. For £12 per month you can become his protector and get two free annual passes, and for £41 per month you can become his guardian. This is an adoption gift that entitles the recipient to a special adoption package – including the chance to be his keeper for the day.
