Fred Kaan, one of the great hymnwriters of the twentieth century, and a passionate Christian advocate of social justice, has died, aged 80. He passed away in the early hours of Sunday 4 October.

Methodist accordion-player aims to "make London happy with music"

A Methodist organist is planning to use his hour on Trafalgar Square's fourth plinth this Sunday simply to make London happy with music. Peter Harding, organist at Acocks Green Methodist Church in Birmingham, will play the accordion to passers-by.
