As northern Australia suffers the worst flooding in more than 30 years, Australian churches have moved rapidly to respond to the community’s urgent needs.

The Methodist Church Relief and Develpment Fund has sent up an emergency fund to aid survivors of the floods in Pakistan.

Three months after parts of Cumbria were devastated by floods, the Methodist Church has insisted that its inhabitants must not be forgotten. They also announced that a Methodist appeal has raised £74,432 to help those affected.

Development organisations are distributing emergency food aid, bottled water and hygiene kits to thousands of Honduran families who have been forced to flee their homes after nearly three weeks of torrential rain.
