The outgoing leader of the Evangelical Alliance has urged programme makers not to focus on the 'eccentric fringe' of Evangelicalism, who he said was the focus of a recent Channel 4 documentary examining the rise of fundamentalism in the UK.
The Evangelical Alliance, which claims to represent one million Christians in the UK, has responded to comments about its activities in last week's Channel 4 TV programme, which examined evidence of the “violence and intimidation facing Muslims who convert to Christianity in Britain”.
West Midlands Police have reported Channel 4 TV to the media regulator Ofcom over the way an Undercover Mosque programme in its Dispatches series was edited - claiming that it was misleading and could harm community relations.
