Modern-day pilgrims are being invited to celebrate the founder of Methodism by walking John Wesley's Way from Welshpool to Llanidloes, participating in street theatre and raising money for good causes.

Methodism in Britain will focus its attention on Wales next month, as Cardiff hosts the annual Methodist Youth Conference from 16-18 November 2007 in the new Urdd Centre in the Bay area - where BBC TV series Doctor Who is based.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has opened a 13th century church in Wales which was dismantled and rebuilt stone-by-stone over 20 years 50 miles away at the National History Museum, St Fagansa, in Cardiff.

A campaign which started in rural Carmarthenshire to support farmers and other rural businesses under economic threat is spreading throughout churches in Wales and looks set to step over the border.
