People opposed to Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) investments in oil tar sands have super-glued themselves to a branch in Edinburgh as part of a day of protest.

Campaigners have today launched new legal action with regard to the activities of the Royal Bank of Scotland on human rights and the environment, in areas such as Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A High Court judge has blocked an attempt to launch a legal challenge over the government's use of taxpayers' money in Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) investments that harm the environment and undermine human rights.
