    Government announces new restorative justice scheme for young

    A new scheme to deal with first time young offenders who have committed a minor offence will be piloted early next year. The scheme aims to stop them going to court unnecessarily, while at the same time ensuring that they make amends for their offence via an apology to the victim.

    Current Research: Toward the abolition of the prison

    Ekklesia is currently working on a multi-author publication looking at alternatives to prison. Drawing on international examples of criminal justice as well as domestic, this will explore ideas of restorative justice - and will look at some underlying theological issues, too.
