In Britain we now have Armed Forces Day, but no specific day to mark or encourage peaceful conflict resolution or transformation.
All the news coming out of Syria at present seems negative, and bound up with remorseless cycles of violence and the huge refugee and internal displacement crisis, which is impacting millions of people.
Peace, a simple five letter word – if only that were all. What I want to say may appear to be asking more questions than it answers, but then I am seeking just as you are.
Today (30 June) is Armed Forces Day. The idea was introduced in 2009 to "show support for the men and women of the armed forces".
