Britain's main Free Churches are joining with charities, unions and campaign groups to lobby for a fairer deal for the country's 3.5 million workers.

Three months after parts of Cumbria were devastated by floods, the Methodist Church has insisted that its inhabitants must not be forgotten. They also announced that a Methodist appeal has raised £74,432 to help those affected.

The President of the Methodist Conference, David Gamble, has told the Church of England General Synod that he believes seeking the realm of God is more important than the existence of individual Churches.

A new partnership statement has been agreed by the Scottish Episcopal Church (Anglican), the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church in Scotland. It was was sealed by leaders of the churches at a service in St Ninian’s Cathedral, Perth.
