Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu has renewed his call for global Anglican leaders to focus on the gospel as a message of hope and healing for the world, and to move beyond factional in-fighting as they gather in Lambeth.

The Archbishop of Canterbury has responded to the GAFCON declaration which proposes forming a council of bishops to provide an alternative to churches they say are preaching a 'false gospel' concerning homosexuality.

The Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem, Suheil Dawani, has called on participants in the conservative Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) to approach their summit in a spirit of "peace, reconciliation and goodwill."
