Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on 27 January each year and in 2014 the occasion will be marked in Edinburgh, Scotland's capital, by a showing of 'Holocaust, A Music Memorial Film From Auschwitz' at the Lauriston Jesuit Centre.
The Taize ecumenical community based in France, which has an emphasis on youth and historic Christian spirituality in a changing world, will be holding one of its European weekends in Edinburgh from 15-17 March 2014.
In a substantial address given at the launch of Just Festival 2013, Bishop John Armes explores the relationship between peace and justice, the struggle against poverty and exclusion, key themes in the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, and the challenge of particular global situations like the one in Zimbabwe. Dr Armes is also chairing a conversation on 'A Good Society' on Tuesday 20 August.
Religion and the News is the title of a book published at the end of last year (2012), co-edited by Professor Jolyon Mitchell, who is taking part in tonight's 'Faith and the Media' conversation at St John's Church, Edinburgh, 6-7.30pm, as part of Just Festival.
