Quakers in Britain have spoken out strongly against the proposal to extend the ‘right to buy’ legislation to housing associations.
There has been widespread criticism of a Conservative Party manifesto pledge to extend the ‘right to buy’ to housing association tenants. This would worsen the housing crisis and be costly to the public.
Newham Council has written to housing associations across the country, including one in Stoke, in an attempt to find accommodation for the 32,000 families on its housing waiting list.
