Plans for a conference of arms dealers at Church House, administrative HQ of the Church of England, have provoked shock, sadness and concern among Christians and others.
There will be an act of prayer and witness outside the conference today (Thursday 1 November) morning, from 7.45am, as the arms dealers are entering.
The Church House conference centre is owned by the Church House Corporation, the president of which is the Archbishop of Canterbury. Dr Rowan Williams has often expressed his opposition to the arms trade in the past, and Christians who oppose the conference are encouraging concerned people of all religions and none to email him about the event.
Quick email can be sent via this link on the Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) website: http://act.caat.org.uk/lobby/67
The act of witness and email to Dr Williams are backed by CAAT, Christianity Uncut, Pax Christi, Christian CND, the Speak Network, Ekklesia and other concerned Christians.
