Political instability and escalating levels of violence have resulted in desperate humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip and across the Middle East region.
Following conflict in Gaza, Israel and Syria, hundreds of thousands of people urgently need basic supplies, medical care and trauma counselling.
Since Wednesday 14 November 2012 civilians in the Gaza Strip have endured an ongoing bombardment by Israeli air strikes, which have resulted in more than 130 Palestinian deaths and more than 1,100 injured.
Communities in southern Israel have also suffered from sustained rocket fire from militant groups in the Gaza Strip. Five Israelis have died as a result of this. Twenty-one were also injured in a bomb explosion on a bus in Tel Aviv.
Even though a ceasefire has brokered, it is only the start of people rebuilding their lives.
