The e-petition seeking a comprehensive, cumulative impact assessment of the UK government’s welfare reforms has now exceeded 82,000 signatories – and has four weeks to reach its target of 100,000.

This is the point at which it is possible to trigger a parliamentary debate. The issue at stake is the enormously negative impact cuts and changes are already having on many thousands of sick and disabled people.

The petition (http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/43154) has been created and promoted by disabled and sick people themselves through the War on Welfare (WOW) network, and supported by Ekklesia and many others.

The Twitter campaign to secure the remaining signatures is running under the hashtags #OneMonthto100k and #WOWpetition.

If you have not signed already, we would urge you to do so, and to promote the petition to friends and colleagues.
