The Archbishop of Canterbury has underlined his opposition to Euthanasia, but suggested a clear moral distinction between the deliberate taking of life and processes that may hasten death.
Writing in The Times, and addressing the question; “Does a right to assisted death entail a responsibility on others to kill?” Dr Williams points out that assisted dying involves other people in an act of suicide and suggests that the recognition of a legal right to assisted dying could entail a responsibility on others to kill.
