10k award for people who show that faith works
-27/5/03
Faithworks and Spring Harvest are to award £10,000 to a project that is inspired by Christian faith and is demonstrating best practice in community development.
The Faithworks Award 2003 will consist of a development grant from the Spring Harvest Charitable Trust and ongoing strategic support and resources from Faithworks Consultancy.
The Faithworks movement was set up several years ago to highlight the importance of the role that churches can play in local communities.
The money will be raised from donations made by guests at this year’s Spring Harvest festival.
Through the award, Faithworks hopes to promote awareness of the community work currently being done by
over 144,000 church-based projects in the UK, and inspire further Christian social activism in the country.
The £10,000 grant will provide the recipient project with funding that will allow it to further develop its impact in the
local community.
Applications are welcome from any project in the UK inspired by Christian faith that can demonstrate that it is working towards meeting the judging criteria.
The judges’ decision will be announced at the Faithworks Conference in Eastbourne from October 10-12.
