You can make a huge difference as well as giving a great gift by sponsoring a monkey through WWF.

Less than 63,000 monkey orang-utans are estimated to survive in the wild today, meaning that monkey sponsorship is more important than ever.

Sponsoring a monkey helps the fast disappearing species to continue to exist. Orang-utan monkeys are now found only on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. Habitat destruction and fragmentation – caused by commercial logging and clearance for oil palm plantations and agriculture – are by far the greatest threats that these monkeys face.

If the current rate of deforestation continues, Borneo could lose most of its lowland forests in less than ten years, and most of its monkeys too, unless more monkeys are sponsored or helped in other ways.

You can help to safeguard the future of wild monkeys as well as giving a unique gift to someone you love by sponsoring one of these monkeys.

The WWF want to give monkeys and other primates the chance to live and breed in relative safety away from the threats of poaching, habitat destruction and forest fires. By sponsoring a monkey you help enable the World Wildlife Fund to monitor and protecting them in their natural home.

Monkey sponsorship can all be done quickly and easily online. When you give the gift of monkey sponsorship, the person on whose behalf you have bought the sponsorship gets a monkey sponsorship pack including a cuddly toy monkey, a fact booklet about your sponsored monkey, a print of your sponsored monkey and updates on your sponsored monkey in WWF’s newsletter.
