The Electoral Reform Society have calculated that plans to ‘stuff’ the House of Lords with 100 extra Conservative Peers in the aftermath of the Lords rejection of cuts to tax credits would cost at least £2.6m per year.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has welcomed an initiative by the South African government to propose a resolution on ‘Ethical Imperatives for a Nuclear-weapons-free World for adoption at the United Nations General Assembly in New York

UN Assessment mission sent to South Sudan following abuse reports
After reports of alleged violations and abuses of human rights committed by both parties to the conflict in South Sudan, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights is deploying a 10-member mission to the country to assess the situation.
