The Taize ecumenical community based in France, which has an emphasis on youth and historic Christian spirituality in a changing world, will be holding one of its European weekends in Edinburgh from 15-17 March 2014.

A brother of the Community will be in the Scottish capital for the weekend, which will include a Saturday evening Lenten prayer in the Catholic Cathedral; people with different commitments sharing their own experiences of discovering “a new solidarity” — the theme of the 2015 anniversaries at Taizé; and consideration of how to rekindle contact between Taizé and Scotland (the Community has ties of friendship with many people in Scotland, but no groups of young people have visited Taizé for several years).

On Monday 17 March there will be a special session for secondary school teachers and chaplains, hosted by the Church and Society Council of the Church of Scotland. This will be from 10:30 am - 1 pm in Saint Andrew’s and Saint George’s West Church in Edinburgh.
