What does St George have to say today?

My colleague Simon Barrow has done a great job revising our 2007 paper on rebranding St George which you can read here.

I have also written a piece for tomorrow's Guardian newspaper about it (should be in the Face to Faith section).

Most encouraging though was an email yesterday from a friend of Ekklesia, Stephen Lingwood, who highlighted how he had been using our work.

This is what he said:

"I thought you might be interested that I've been creating some press here in Bolton about 're-branding St George'. My sermon on Sunday will draw a lot upon your Ekklesia paper on rebranding St George. I've also done a press release saying the same thing, which has got some interest in the Bolton News here:

"It also got a supportive Editorial (which isn't online) and an online poll on the subject".

It's very encouraging to see how even, years after we produced it (which caused quite a stir in the press and media at the time, including predictably some bile from Littlejohn in the Daily Mail) the ideas are being used and taken forward, and still encouraging debate.
