‘NO WAR IN UKRAINE: for peace and human rights’ – an online seminar – takes place at 5pm (GMT – 6pm CET) on Monday 24 January. This event is a joint initiative between Another Europe is Possible and European Alternatives.
There is a new threat of war in Europe. An international civil society response, opposing militarism and authoritarianism and supporting peace and human rights, is urgently needed.
This important event draws together Ukrainian and Russian civil society activists, as part of a new international push for citizens-led dialogue and solidarity across borders.
Such international dialogue should include the three key pillars that defined the Helsinki agreements of 1975: (1) security, disarmament and territorial integrity; (2) economic, social, health and environmental co-operation; and (3) human rights and the rule of law.
This event will open a discussion on how to take forward this international peace building.
