The pro-inclusion network Accepting Evangelicals (AE) is celebrating its tenth anniversary today, as the group meets in London, at St John’s Church in Waterloo, for its Annual General Meeting.
Ekklesia staff and associates are among its signatories and supporters.
“It has been a significant year and momentum is growing towards greater acceptance of LGBT people in the Church,” a spokesperson declared ahead of the event.
Accepting Evangelicals is an open network of Evangelical Christians who believe the time has come to move towards the acceptance of faithful, loving same-sex partnerships at every level of church life, and the development of a positive Christian ethic for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
Its patrons are the Rev Steve Chalke, the Rt Rev David Gillett, Vicky Beeching,
the Rev Ruth Gouldbourne and Jeremy Marks.
