‘Following Jesus on the margins’ is the strapline of the Crucible course, now in its tenth year in Birmingham, equipping pioneers of new forms of church for a changing culture.

Crucible is part of the Anabaptist Network of Organisations (http://www.anabaptistnetwork.com/node/553) of which Ekklesia is also pleased to be a member.

The course runs in Selly Oak, Birmingham. Bookings are encouraged as early as possible.

‘Urban Challenge’ is the next Crucible Course weekend, running from 1-2 February. It is the part of stream 1 which examines the dynamics of mission and ministry in our multicultural urban communities, where Christendom has faded first. Urban communities give less urban places a window into the future – understanding our faith here will enable us to understand our faith elsewhere. – More at: http://www.cruciblecourse.org.uk/crucible-course/crucible-course/39-urban-challenges-stream-1#sthash.vZgtIise.dpuf

The other choice on the same weekend is ‘Becoming Human’, which is the part of stream 2 which probes the dynamics of discipleship and asks how we can become more fully human as followers of Jesus Christ. With thought-provoking insights into contemporary discipleship. See: http://www.cruciblecourse.org.uk/crucible-course/crucible-course/45-becoming-human-stream-2#sthash.QCfKKDrT.dpuf

Further 2014 themes are ‘Creating New Churches’ and ‘Jesus Unplugged’.
