What is good work? How do we understand it theologically and recognise it in practice? What role can it play in helping to create more just societies and a fairer world? And how can we work with others here and elsewhere to enable more people to have access to it?

The 2014 Ecumenical World Development Conference will bring together leading theologians, policy experts, representatives of business and government, campaigners, and members of a broad range of churches to explore vital questions about work, identity and society.
Presentations, discussions, workshops and worship will look at our theology of work, the role of churches in engaging with work issues, the ways in which different actors can help to create “good work” and how we can be part of the process of ensuring “good work” both locally and globally.
Organised by a coalition of Christian development agencies, campaigning organisations and denominations, EWDC is a unique opportunity for Christians with an interest in global poverty and justice issues to meet, share and learn. Participants will leave informed, stimulated and equipped to play their part in tackling one of the key issues of our time.
All are welcome to join ‘Good Work’, the Ecumenical World Development Conference 2014, at the High Leigh Conference Centre, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, England, from 7 to 9 February 2014.
Ekklesia is happy to be supporting and commending this important event.
