How can we feed and develop motivation to swim against the tide?

One way is to hear the stories and experiences of people who have taken the difficulty and challenge of change into their hands and done something with it.

In what is certain to be an encouraging conversation at St John’s Church at 2pm on Saturday 24th August, there will be a chance to meet inspiring young people who balance homework with… well, changing the world.

They have had a positive effect on those they set out to help and their friends and families. What galvanised them to be the change they wanted to see in the world (Gandhi) and what we can learn from them?

The interviews with our panellists will be followed by an open discussion.

The speakers will be representatives of Mary’s Meals, Fast Forward, Eczema Outreach Scotland, TRUE Colours, and Stonelaw High Fair Traders.

The chair will be Sean Lewis from Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council.

Tickets cost £5 and are available online or from the cash-only box office at the venue.

Just Festival, also known simply as Just, runs from 2-26 August 2013. It is based at St John’s Church, Edinburgh, and some 27 other occasional venues, and combines artistic and performance style events with conversations, talks, films, exhibits and other ways of exploring how to live together creatively in a mixed-belief society.
