Ekklesia co-director Simon Barrow appears on BBC Radio Wales’ ‘All Things Considered’ programme at 9am on Sunday 29 April 2012. It lasts around 30 minutes and is also available afterwards as a Podcast.
The programme asks: How many bishops does it take to produce good laws? The latest proposals for reforming the House of Lords reduces of the Church of England’s quota from 26 to 12, and speak of seats being reserved for other faiths. But how will they and their peers be appointed? Will the religious communities of Wales, for instance, get a look in? And should religion matter at all in appointments to the nation’s legislature?
Presenter Roy Jenkins explores the issues with a panel of guests featuring Baroness Ilora Finlay, Lord Griffiths of Bury Port, Saleem Kidwai of the Muslim Council of Wales, and Simon Barrow of the thinktank Ekklesia.
