The Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) is organising a ‘Scotland Against Racism’ march for St Andrew’s Day, Saturday 30 November 2013, which will be joined by trade unionists, community groups and people of all faiths and none.

There will also be a focus on eliminating sectarianism, with football organisations involved.

Speakers include: Jerry Dammers (musician and anti-racism campaigner), a representative of Hope Not Hate, Dee Matthew (Show Racism the Red Card) and Alan White (United Glasgow Football Club).

This is the first time in a number of years that the celebration of Scotland’s multicultural society falls on St Andrew’s Day itself – the country’s national day, and also that of the saint who inspires Christians in their mission of peace, justice and reconciliation.

Assemble at 10:30am on Glasgow Green. The march sets off at 11am. A rally in the Glasgow Film Theatre follows at midday or a little after. March Route; Glasgow Green, MacLellan Arch, Saltmarket, Glasgow Cross, High Street, Ingram Street, Montrose Street, Cochrane Street, George Square South, St Vincent Place, St Vincent Street, Hope Street, Bath Street, Douglas Street, Sauchiehall Street, Rose Street and Renfrew Street.
