British Chancellor Gordon Brown, who has been on a four day fact-finding visit to marginalised communities in Kenya and Tanzania, has spoken of the influence of his Christian upbringing on his worldwide campaign to secure justice for Africa and debt relief for the worldís poorest nations.
Brown spoke to Ben Russell of the Independent about his father, John, and the missionaries who came to his church in his youth. Their talks and sermons, the Chancellor said, had given him a special concern for the problems of Africa.
