Christian radio station touched by Tony

A Christian radio station in the UK appears to have been so touched by Tony Blair’s words that it has issued a statement indicating a u-turn in its behaviour – and urging other Christians to follow its lead.
In an apparent ‘Damascus Road’ experience, Premier Christian Radio issued a statement following the Faithworks lecture by the Prime Minister entitled; “Blair and Kerridge (Premier’s Chief executive) tell church to get positive’.
The statement, quoting extracts from the Prime Minister’s speech to faith groups in London, urged Christians to be more positive in the way that they present themselves.
Kerridge, the Chief Executive of the ‘UK’s leading Christian Media Group’ said after the event; “The Prime Minister is encouraging Christians to become more vocal about the positive action with which they are involved rather than only being known for speaking out against those things which they find offensive.”
Kerridge continued; “Premier reflects the views of Christians across the range of the church and understands the contentious issues which evoke deep feeling in the Christian community but now we will use our voice to reach the public about the important community work Christians in the UK are taking part in. Today must act as a catalyst for that to begin to change – the church must learn to promote itself positively.”
Their statement comes after a press release they issued two months ago entitled; ‘Ban This Sick Show’ referring to the proposed screening of “Jerry Springer: The Opera” on BBC2.
The station also gave out the details of the corporationís complaints department on air four times an hour, causing the BBC to complain in kind to Premier for causing their switchboards to jam.
