A Vicarís wife from Harrogate will feature in the Christmas edition of Gordon Ramseyís ëthe ëFí wordí being broadcast on 9pm on Channel 4 tonight (Wednesday December 21) and on Christmas Eve.
Ruth Sowerby, wife of the Team Rector of St. Wilfridís Church, Harrogate, the Revd Mark Sowerby, will be seen being taught to cook an alternative Christmas dinner of salmon, minted potatoes, leeks in a mildly curried cream sauce & braised cos lettuce, in between visits to church.
Enjoying the results with Ruth and Mark were their daughters Bethan, Pippa & Anna. Speaking of the filming, Ruth said, ìI thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience of working with Gordon. He was absolutely charming, patient, and lovely with the girls for whom he signed countless autographs. Both Gordon and his team were simply lovely to have around.”
Mark and Ruth were also guests at the F word studio-restaurant in London were they joined celebrity guest, Sharon Osbourne.
“We had a tremendous time at the ‘F-Word’ restaurant/studioî, said Ruth ìWe enjoyed a fabulous meal of oysters followed by Turkey and veg. His (Gordon Ramseyís) chocolate dessert was delicious. The whole evening was great fun.”
Ruth was picked out of thousands of applicants who applied to invite Gordon Ramsey to help them prepare for Christmas. Mr Ramsey described St Wilfridís church as ëextraordinaryí.
In ‘the F word’ programme, Gordon Ramsey has been up and down the country visiting women who can’t cook. He said that he was convinced that more women than men find cooking a chore, and has launched a campaign ëto get more women back in the kitchen.í
The programme is scheduled for broadcast tonight, Wednesday 21 Dec at 9pm on Channel 4 and again on Saturday 24 Dec at 8pm.
