Comedy star Ricky Gervais appears as Jesus Christ while Ant and Dec are two high camp princes in a series of spoof paintings.

The artworks were commissioned to mark the British Comedy Awards which take place on Wednesday and will be sold for charity.

Gervais is accompanied by his character David Brentís colleagues from The Office in a version of Philippe de Champaigneís The Last Supper.

Creators have even included Garethís stapler encased in Jelly from a memorable scene in the hilarious series.

Presenters Ant and Dec are pictured in a revamped version of John Everett Millaisís painting The Princes Edward and Richard in the Tower.

The paintings are among several which will be hanging on the walls of the studio when the live ceremony is broadcast on Wednesday. Others feature Jonathan Ross, Johnny Vegas, Phoenix Nights, Stephen Fry, Jo Brand, and the Cold Feet cast.

They will then be auctioned to raise cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK on ITV2.

Members of the public can bid for the items during a show called And The Fun Goes On which is aired straight after ITV1ís main awards show.

Bidding takes place online at www.britishcomedyawards.com until Wednesday night, and then there will be a live auction.
