Institute calls for sustainable development to combat terror

The Institute on Religion and Public Policy has called for continuing support for sustainable development as part of action against terrorism.
In a statement following the terrorist attacks in Spain and the apprehension of five suspects, the Institute’s President Joseph K. Grieboski said; “The alleged involvement of three Moroccan suspects underscores the necessity of continuing and dedicated American support for civil society building, education, and religious freedom in a country like Morocco, which
is not a natural source or breeding ground for extremism.”
The Institute on Religion and Public Policy also “severely” condemned as “senseless” and “cowardly” the “acts of violence committed against the people and state of Spain.” Such acts, it said “demonstrate the godless disregard for human life and human dignity at the core of groups like al-Queda.”
The statement continued; “We congratulate the Spanish authorities on the speedy apprehension of five suspects.”
“The Institute on Religion and Public Policy offers its most sincere condolences to the families of those lost in the attacks, and to all the people of Spain.”
But it also added; “Moroccan authorities at all levels have indicated to the Institute on Religion and Public Policy their ongoing commitment to root out evil and serve as a partner and friend in the promotion of democracy and freedom.”
