The UK-based churches’ international development, relief and advocacy agency Christian Aid has launched a new website – which it hopes will both resource the struggle for global justice and engage more people with its work and that of its partners.

“What we offer you now is a really good website which gives you a way of finding what you need, whether that’s the latest on climate change or what’s happening, right now, in Zimbabwe”, said a spokesperson.

The new domain continues to include news, resources and updates on Christian Aid Week, Christmas and stories showing what difference donations make. But in the future it will also include blogs, polls, and video, say its developers.

In lauching the site Christian Aid says: “As befits an organisation whose mission is to stamp out poverty, the new website is structured around the causes of poverty. So, what are the causes? HIV, climate change, conflict, the abuse of power, living on the edge of survival, unjust trade and emergencies.”

The overall aim of tyhe site is to enable supporters, old and news, to act. “As a human rights volunteer told us: when the news comes on, don’t just sit at home throwing your shoes at the television – do something! So look out for what you can do – whether it’s sending an email to a politician or taking up our green tips.”

Christian Aid works with poor communitie seeking change across the world, irrespective of creed. The new site includes a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs): http://www.christianaid.org.uk/faqs.aspx
