Doctors, midwives and health professionals from every region of the world have added their voices to the growing pressure for the decriminalisation of abortion, with 838 from 44 countries signing an open letter to governments, published today by Amnesty International.

The UN Security Council has called on all countries that can do so to take the war on terrorism to Islamic State-controlled territory in Syria and Iraq and destroy its safe havens, warning that the group intends to mount further terror attacks like those in Paris and Beirut.
