UN humanitarian aid reaches five besieged Syrian towns
As United Nations relief wing convoys reached five besieged towns in Syria with aid yesterday (17 February), the Office of the United Nations Special Envoy for the country announced that a task force will meet for a second time to discuss humanitarian access issues.

The General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, the Rev Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, has issued a statement on behalf of the Council hailing the historic meeting of Pope Francis, pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, and Patriarch Kirill, primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
