New website

After months of hard work behind the scenes, the new website is here. It has been carefully designed to make reading and navigations easier. We hope you appreciate the simpler, cleaner, look. The work has been carried out for us by the non-profit organisation Netuxo, who we have engaged to maintain the site on a regular basis.

Sexuality, struggle and saintliness: same-sex love and the Church by Savitri Hensman

Our first Ekklesia book is now in production and will be available from December 2015.  The book will be officially launched at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church on the 5th January 2015 7.15pm-8.45pm. All welcome.

Foxes have holes: Christian responses to the housing crisis Edited by Andrew Francis and Trisha Dale

We are delighted to confirm that we reached our crowd funding target to produce this important response to the UK housing crisis.  The book is currently being edited and will be launched at Manchester Cathedral in April, with other launches taking place in Edinburgh and London.

Ekklesia in the media

During November Ekklesia co-Director, Jonathan Bartley appeared on Radio 5 Live and LBC discussing poppies and remembrance. Ekklesia Chief Operating Officer, Virginia Moffatt spoke on the same subject on BBC North East, and the release of Shaker Aamer on Premier Radio. She also took part in BBC Scotland’s Sunday Morning Live with Annie Macdonald discussing heroes.  Whilst she joined Andrew Francis, editor of Foxes have holes on Share Radio to talk about housing issues. You can listen to their conversation here.

Christmas Appeal 2015

This year’s Christmas Appeal is on the theme ‘Make Room at the Inn’. Our focus in 2015 is  the huge numbers of people displaced and on the move both at home and abroad, for whom there will be no room at the inn. Whether it is refugees fleeing wars in Syria and Iraq, families forced to move due to the benefit cap, or disabled people unable to afford the bedroom tax. You can find out more here .

We really appreciate all the support you give us throughout the year. If you are able to offer us a little more to help us reach our funding target of £5,000, we would be immensely grateful.
